One of the most rewarding parts of our job is meeting couples and learning about their unique love stories. Anna and Victor’s tale is one of those that sticks with you - filled with adventure, culture, and a dash of Viking Wedding magic.
Anna, originally from Germany, and Victor, from Africa, now call Kenya their home. Their story isn’t just unusual - it’s a beautiful testament to crossing borders, blending cultures, and living life on their own terms.
So naturally, their wedding had to be as extraordinary as they are. When their passion for Vikings met their adventurous spirit, the idea of a Viking-themed wedding seemed like a natural choice. And what better place to celebrate than Trelleborg, an authentic Viking village steeped in history and charm?
Trelleborg Viking Village
Trelleborg is no ordinary destination. Recognized by UNESCO, this reconstructed Viking fortress near Slagelse in West Zealand brings the Viking Age to life. Originally built in the 980s by King Harald Bluetooth, it’s a haven for history lovers and a dream for anyone yearning for a Viking-inspired adventure.
Imagine stepping into a world of longhouses, bonfires, and centuries-old traditions. At Trelleborg, couples can exchange vows in the grand Longhouse, its walls flickering with the warm glow of candlelight and adorned with furs.
Guests are treated to the sounds of a storyteller weaving Norse legends, the taste of traditional Mjød (Viking mead), and the thrill of outdoor games - making it not just a wedding but a full Viking experience.
Anna and Victor decided to embrace all of this, together with their family and friends.
Viking Wedding Attire
For her special day, Anna wore a stunning white gown with delicate light-blue details and a fur-lined blue cape that gave her an ethereal, Viking-queen look.
Victor complemented her perfectly in a traditional Viking outfit with matching colors. Braided hairstyles completed their look, making them appear as if they’d stepped straight out of the Norse sagas.
Adding to the magic of the day was a precious, unseen guest - their unborn baby, who was there to witness their vows.
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony in the Longhouse was nothing short of enchanting. The flicker of bonfires, the soft hum of nature around them, and the atmosphere of ancient tradition made it unforgettable.
Afterward, the celebration moved outdoors, where the couple and their guests indulged in Viking games under the open sky - a joyous mix of old-world charm and modern love.
If you're a big Viking fan, Trelleborg might be the perfect setting for your wedding! Reach out for more information—we’d be thrilled to be part of your journey.
