Maria and Austin travelled from the USA with their parents to enjoy a fun and romantic adventure wedding in Denmark - a family wedding in April on the pretty island of Møn.
Møn is a beautiful island that boasts a stunning countryside and awe-inspiring coastline. Maria and Austin chose the perfect location for their island wedding abroad.
The couple booked it through our Romantic location package that saw us take care of all the boring legal and admin paperwork, freeing up Maria and Austin to focus on the fun parts of planning their wedding in Denmark!
Maria looked stunning in a beautiful dress with a sweetheart neckline and gorgeous soft floaty layers of embroidered chiffon that gave her all the movement she needed to enjoy an outdoor adventure wedding. It was perfect for the location. Austin looked very smart in a grey suit and tie with chunky brown brogues.
The wedding ceremony was held in Liselund New Castle in Liselund Park which is home to the best-preserved romantic gardens in Denmark. It has sweeping lawns, ancient trees, plants and flowers and lakes with ducks and water lilies.
Scattered around the park are remote houses and monuments from distant lands for visitors to discover. And it was on the balcony of one of these houses that Maria and Austin’s wedding ceremony took place.
It was a beautiful setting, Maria and Austin took their vows amongst the majestic white columns, standing on the traditionally tiled floor with the stunning scenery as a backdrop guiding your eyes to the lake beyond. It looked like a scene straight out of a Jane Austen adaptation!
Beautiful Møn Island Wedding
After a lovely ceremony, Maria and Austin took a stroll around the park for a fun photoshoot with our talented adventure wedding photographer and even got a visit from peacocks!
The weather was a little rainy but that didn’t dampen anybody’s spirits and the celebration carried on regardless! Our amazing adventure wedding photographers work with whatever weather and light they are given and play with it to create stunning images that capture the story and feelings of the couple during their adventure abroad.
Maria & Austin, after exchanging their vows, headed to the nearby ancient market town of Stege. With its wonderful mix of middle age and modern architecture, it’s an enchanting town to explore. You can really sense its Viking past.
The image of Austin swinging Maria around on the damp cobbled street in Stege with her wedding dress flowing is one of our favourites of the day. Here, take a look!
We then drove to the white cliffs of Møn to capture our last images. The cliffs of Møn (also known as Møns Klint) are so geologically significant that they have been grated UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
Can you think of anywhere more awesome for a romantic photoshoot? It was still raining but our adventure photographer worked with the weather to create wonderfully romantic images of Maria and Austin. The windswept images under the dramatic sky were so breathtaking, don't you agree?
Creative and Storytelling: Møn Island wedding photography
We loved arranging Maria and Austin’s wedding in Møn. They were so lovely to work with and it was great to see them and their parents really enjoying their stay in Denmark and embracing Danish culture! Thank you to Anette Mølholm for the lovely pictures!
